Glass Restoration In Eagle Mountain And Saratoga Springs
Sprinkler spots, mineral staining, and etched glass corrected. We restore clouded windows instead of replacing them, usually for a fraction of the cost.
Why Your Glass Looks Cloudy
Utah has some of the hardest water in the country. Every time a sprinkler hits a window, it leaves calcium and magnesium behind. The water evaporates, the minerals stay, and they bond to the glass. Regular cleaning will not touch it.
Sprinkler Overspray
The most common cause here. Lawn sprinklers clip the lower glass every cycle and build a white haze that gets worse each season. Caught early it usually corrects well. Left for years it can pit the glass.
Hard Water Staining
Utah water carries heavy mineral content. Left alone, deposits bond tighter and start to eat into the surface of the glass.
Construction Debris
New builds leave mortar splatter, stucco spray, and paint overspray. Scraped wrong, the glass gets scratched permanently.
Oxidation And Haze
Older windows pick up a dull film that no soap removes. Restoration cuts through most of it. How much clarity returns depends on how long the film has been building and whether it has started to etch.
Etching And Pitting
When deposits sit too long they pit the surface. We can correct early etching. Deep pitting sometimes cannot be saved, and we will tell you straight.
Restore, Do Not Replace
Restoration usually runs a fraction of what new glass costs. If the pane can be saved, saving it is the cheaper answer.
What We Can Fix
Much of the hard water damage in this area is correctable if it gets caught before the minerals pit the surface. Age, severity, and stain type all change the outcome, so we test a small section first and you see the actual result on your own glass before committing to the whole house.
When Replacement Wins
We would rather turn down a job than take your money for a result that will not hold. If the glass is too far gone, we say so and you can put that money toward new panes instead.
How It Works
Restoration is not cleaning. It is a controlled abrasive process, and the sequence matters.
We Test First
A small patch tells us if the damage is correctable before you spend anything.
You See The Result
We show you the tested section next to untouched glass so the difference is yours to judge.
We Restore
Compound and pads worked across each pane until the mineral bond breaks and clarity returns.
Seal And Protect
An optional coating that makes the glass shed water and slows the spots from coming back.
Common Questions
What causes the white spots on my windows?
Hard water, almost always from lawn sprinklers hitting the glass. Utah water carries heavy calcium and magnesium. When it dries on the window the minerals stay behind and bond to the surface. Every cycle adds another layer.
Will regular window cleaning remove hard water stains?
No. Soap and a squeegee remove dirt sitting on top of glass. Mineral deposits are chemically bonded to the surface, so they need an abrasive compound and a different process. That is what restoration is.
Is glass restoration cheaper than replacing the windows?
Usually by a wide margin. Replacement means new glass, new labor, and sometimes new frames. If the pane can be restored, restoring it is almost always the cheaper answer. We test first so you know which one you are looking at.
Can all hard water damage be fixed?
Not all of it. Caught early, most of it comes out. If the deposits have been there for years they can pit the glass, and deep pitting cannot be polished away without distorting the pane. We test a patch and tell you honestly which one you have.
How do I keep the spots from coming back?
Adjust the sprinklers so they stop hitting the glass. That one fix solves most of it. We also offer a protective coating that helps the glass shed water, and it buys time, but the sprinkler is the real culprit.
Do you restore shower doors?
Yes. Shower glass takes the same mineral buildup as exterior windows, often worse because it gets hit every day. Same process, same result.
