Common Questions
How often should gutters be cleaned in Utah?
Twice a year for most homes. Fall is the one that matters most, because leaves left in the trough hold water that freezes and backs ice under your shingles. Spring clears out seeds and winter debris. If you have heavy tree cover, you may need a third visit.
How much does gutter cleaning cost?
It depends on the linear footage, the number of stories, and how much debris is up there. A single story home is quick. Three stories or a steep pitch takes longer and more setup. Call with your address and we will quote it flat.
Do you blow the debris out or remove it?
We pull it out by hand and bag it. Blowing debris out of a gutter just moves it onto your roof, your lawn, and your driveway, and it does nothing for a clogged downspout. Hand cleaning costs more time and it is the only way to actually finish the job.
Do you clean gutters with gutter guards?
Yes, though it depends on the type. Some guards come off and go back on without trouble. Others are screwed down or foam filled and take real work, and a few are not worth removing at all. We will look at what you have and tell you what makes sense.
Can you fix sagging gutters or loose hangers?
We flag what we find and can handle minor hanger and spike work. Full replacement or major repairs are a different trade, and we will tell you straight when that is what you are looking at rather than sell you something that will not hold.
What about the ice dams I got last winter?
Ice dams usually start with clogged gutters, but not always. Poor attic insulation melts snow on the roof, and that water refreezes at the cold eave regardless of how clean the trough is. Cleaning helps and it may not be the whole fix. We will tell you what we see.
